Quintana Roo’s claim to fame was they basically invented the triathlon bike. Dan Empfield, creator of www.slowtwitch.com was a pro triathlete who created the first wetsuit with a triathlete in mind. Soon after, he branched out and offered the Superform which was the first triathlon specific bike featuring 650c tires and a steep seat angle. This was the first bike designed around a set of aerobars.
Quintana Roo is now owned by American Bicycle Group, but they still make some pretty cool triathlon bikes such as the CD0.1 their top end bike. They make a wide range of bikes for triathletes including women specific models. Finding a used Quintana Roo bike for sale has not always been easy mainly due to the number of total bikes they sell, but as Quintana Roo becomes more widespread more used Quintana Roo bikes are ending up for sale as triathletes upgrade to the "latest and greatest" technology.
